Terms & Conditions

This agreement is a legally binding contract between you (“the Author”) and Katie Carey / Soulful Valley Publishing House (“the Publisher”). Please read carefully and keep a copy for your records.

By making payment, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Services Provided

You are either:

Purchasing one chapter or poetry space in a multi-author book, or
Purchasing a solo book package (group programme or one-to-one).

Solo book packages include:

Grammatical editing, formatting, and layout
Front, rear and spine cover design
Amazon best-seller ranking (at least one category within 30 days of release)
The right to distribute your chapter or solo book as you choose (see restrictions below).

Important: Solo books with us are only available to authors who have previously contributed to one of our multi-author collaborations.

2. Payments

All multi-author book payments must be made in full at the start of the project unless a special agreement has been made.
You are purchasing in your business capacity and guaranteeing the purchase as an individual.
Payment is processed securely via Zettle, Stripe or Paypal. You will receive a receipt after purchase.

3. Refunds & Cancellations

No refunds are given on these services.
By completing your purchase, you agree not to initiate a chargeback.
In the event of a serious life issue, you may:
- Transfer your payment as a credit towards a future chapter or solo book, or
- Transfer your place to another person (if they meet the criteria for participation).
Failure to complete your chapter/book by the deadlines does not entitle you to a refund.

4. Submission Requirements

You agree to provide:

Your completed chapter or manuscript
Your biography
A head and shoulders photograph

These must be submitted by the deadlines communicated via email, Messenger, or the private Facebook group.

Failure to submit by the deadline may result in exclusion from the project with no refund.

5. Rights & Licensing

Multi-Author Books

You grant the Publisher and co-authors the non-exclusive rights to print, publish, distribute, and sell your chapter as part of the book worldwide.
You grant the Publisher the right to use your name, likeness, biography, and full/partial excerpts of your chapter for promotional purposes with full attribution.
You understand that:
- You will not receive royalties from sales of multi-author books.
- Ebook proceeds go to a charity of the Publisher’s choice.
- All other proceeds (after expenses) are reinvested into PR and future projects.
- You cannot alter the cover, manuscript, book description, or price.

Solo Books

You grant the Publisher the right to publish and distribute your solo book through Amazon.
You will receive 100% of royalties from Amazon sales of your solo book.
You may publish on other platforms at your own expense or by arrangement with the Publisher for an additional fee.
You retain full copyright of your solo book.
You agree to participate in collaborative decisions regarding cover, manuscript, description, and pricing.
No paperback copies are included in your package; these can be ordered from Amazon directly through your Amazon KDP account at your own cost.

6. Promotion & Marketing

The Publisher guarantees that your book will reach Amazon best-seller status in at least one category within 30 days of release.
No guarantee is made regarding sales volume or how long best-seller status will last.
Marketing graphics will be provided.
You are expected to support the promotion of the book upon release.

7. Use of the Book

You may:

Purchase author copies from Amazon for personal use, resale, or events.
Sell signed copies through your website or in person (signed only by you).
Host events, workshops, or courses connected to your chapter/book.
Offer the book as a free gift or part of a business package.

You may not:

Alter or republish the collaborative book outside of agreed platforms.
Represent the collaborative book as solely your own work.

8. Integrity & Originality

Soulful Valley Publishing will not accept AI-generated chapters, poetry, or manuscripts. All contributions must be original work based on your lived experiences, insights, and expertise.
The Publisher takes care to ensure originality but cannot be held responsible for false or plagiarised submissions.
Authors are expected to act with full integrity within the project and their wider business.

9. Limitation of Liability

Soulful Valley Publishing is not responsible for the personal or professional actions of participating authors outside of the book projects.
No guarantees are made regarding financial results from participating in a project. Participation is primarily intended as a tool for business growth, brand positioning, and credibility.

10. Governing Principles

These Terms & Conditions represent the full and final agreement between you and Soulful Valley Publishing. They override all prior discussions, emails, or messages.
